The Montessori method
The Montessori method is a means of putting the child in touch with the world around him.
Fundamental to this approach is the belief that the child is able to learn the most from birth to the age of six.
In a Montessori school the child is regarded as a dynamic learner and there is a lot of trust in his or her abilities to absorb and learn.
The environment is monitored and carefully controlled, and continously adapted to the child's needs, an occupation vital to the Montessori approach.
“The skill, care and devotion with which the directress prepares the environment is the very condition of the child's freedom.”
